Humtour is the first company in Hungary to receive the Good Travel Seal sustainability certification, specifically the Platinum level!
The certification, developed by Green Destinations is based on the GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) standards, follows a strict set of rules, recognised not only in Europe but all over the world, in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which proves that the company that has obtained it is actually applying sustainable practices and not just “greenwashing” with catchy slogans.
The Good Travel Seal certificate assesses the sustainability efforts of businesses on 3 levels, with a total of 5 degrees from bronze to diamond. It’s a huge achievement that we have immediately achieved a platinum certification at Grade 4, which means that we have demonstrably incorporated more than two thirds of the GSTC standards into our operations.
For this success we owe a huge thank you to Innotime Hungary, the national representative of Green Destinations, who presented us with the Special Sustainability Award at the Tourism Week Opening Gala in February, which included the mentoring provided by Innotime, and they even covered the certification fee.
