Nature, Art & Gastronomy: Mushrooms in the forest, in the sketchbook and on the plate – Saturday, May 13, 2023
The theme of today's tour is "Awakening"
We invite you to an exciting fusion of nature and art activities.
During the one-day programme, accompanied by our guide Anna, a biologist and mushroom expert, we can meet the all-embracing and omnipresent mushroom kingdom in the varied locations of Börzsöny.
And after collecting and playful learning, we can immerse ourselves in the joys of individual and collective art-making. In our experience, the inspirational powers of mushrooms know no bounds!
🇬🇧 🇭🇺 The tour guide will lead the tour in two languages, both Hungarian and English.
March 25, 2023 Nature, Art & Gastronomy: Mushrooms in the forest, in the sketchbook and on the plate
(The pictures are illustrations, species and crop richness depend on the weather, not guaranteed.)
Anna, who is a biologist, mushroom expert, trained in permaculture landscape design and community development, describes herself this way:
My love of nature and people has accompanied me and guided me through life since childhood. For years I have been leading nature walks and art workshops for children and adults, in English and/or Hungarian, in collaboration with various civil organisations and artists. I find the synergy of being outdoors together, learning about ecology and doing soulful art activities incredibly rewarding. As the triad of nature, science and art brings us closer to ourselves and to each other.
The full-day programme includes a nature walk with Anna after the morning gathering. We will collect plants and mushrooms and learn new skills during the morning.
After lunch, based on the materials and information gathered, we will put what we have learned during the day into a new context and create artworks, drawings, paintings and collages.
Anna is a qualified mushroom inspector, so the mushrooms collected during the hike will be checked on the spot and the participants can take the approved mushrooms home at the end of the day.
The theme of today’s tour:
Awakening
Everything living is just awakening from its long, frozen sleep. We are filled with freshness, out there and in here. We know it – the buzz, the chirp, the hum – will always come. It repeats itself year after year, yet it captivates us each time.
(The pictures are illustrations, species and crop richness depend on the weather, not guaranteed.)
This Saturday, with science glasses on, we’re going for a long hike to immerse ourselves in this awakening.
And the art session at the end of the hike will also explore what inspired us during the hike.
If you are intrigued by all this, let’s get together!
