Adventures in the world of
mushrooms and
herbs - Nature discovery trip in the Börzsöny
We invite you on an exciting spring nature walk where you will learn lots of interesting facts about mushrooms, herbs and wildlife in general. All this hands-on, in the fresh air, wandering in the forest, while you can even fill your basket with edible treasures of the woods!
During the one-day program, accompanied by our guide Anna, a biologist and mushroom inspector, you can discover the omnipresent mushroom kingdom, the mysterious world of medicinal plants and the secrets of the forest’s wildlife in the diverse locations of Börzsöny.
Anna’s expertise and passionate enthusiasm for nature will give you a deeper understanding of the forest’s complex ecosystems, and perhaps a different perspective on your next walk in nature.
The tour guide will lead the tour in two languages, both Hungarian and English.

The full-day program includes a nature walk with Anna after the morning gathering. We will collect plants and mushrooms and learn new things during the morning and early afternoon.
Not only will you gain a wealth of useful knowledge about mushrooms and herbs during this engaging and educational walk, but thanks to our guide’s unique background in blending science and art, you will also be aesthetically touched by the environment around you and see breathtaking details that the untrained eye might overlook. (Tip: Make sure you have at least a fully charged phone with you so you can take lots of fantastic pictures of your experience!)
Anna, who is a biologist, mushroom expert, trained in permaculture landscape design and community development, describes herself this way:
My love of nature and people has accompanied me and guided me through life since childhood. For years I have been leading nature walks and art workshops for children and adults, in English and/or Hungarian, in collaboration with various civil organisations and artists. I find the synergy of being outdoors together, learning about ecology and doing soulful art activities incredibly rewarding. As the triad of nature, science and art brings us closer to ourselves and to each other.

Back at our meeting point at around 2.30 pm, we will have a hearty lunch made from local ingredients (home-style one-pot dish, bread, syrup, soda, hot tea)
Anna is a qualified mushroom inspector, so the mushrooms collected during the tour will be examined on the spot and the approved, edible mushrooms can be taken home by the participants at the end of the day.
